The United Swallow Club held it's annual meet in sunny Southern California December 11 and 12, 2010. The meet was held in conjunction with the Southern California Color Pigeon Club. Rudi Stephan had been slated to be the judge but Rudi had some problems which did not allow him to come. Gary Romig was the reserve judge and did the job. 99 Swallows were shown by 9 exhibitors. The quality was excellent with 3 birds receiving the "E" ratings and 18 "HS" ratings. A huge "Thank You" must go out to Lennie Mefferd for hosting the show at his home in Hacienda Heights, California. Thanks to George De La Nuez for doing the fine photographs you see on this page. Thanks also go out to Jay Beals for his efforts in preparing the food for the participants. It was great Jay! Thanks also go out to Bill Griebel, Mike Cobb and Leon Stephens for helping to organize the event. Not an easy task with their schedule recently. Thanks to all the others who helped to write coup tags and set up the show. A few problems came up because not all birds could be couped at once and this meant that some birds were not around to be photographed. Perry's "E" rated blue barless Thuringer and best young swallow was missed along with Tony Brancato's Blue Thuringer Swallows. Some other birds did not cooperate when George was photographing.
